RedHat have recently announced the demise of CentOS Linux, which was previously the way you could obtain free access to a RHEL like OS.
They are now offering a free way to obtain access to a full version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux under their Red Hat Developer Program
RHEL Free Download
To obtain access to your own copy of RHEL for free you need to register an account and download your image, it’s as simple as that!
RedHat Developer Subscription
Head over to developers.redhat.com
Register an account
Once logged in click on Products & Technologies
Click on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Now click on the Download RHEL at no-cost button
You should now have a file being downloaded to your computer
My file was rhel-baseos-9.1-x8.iso
The direct link to download is https://developers.redhat.com/products/rhel/download
You can now install this into your tool of choice.

Yes, go to developers.redhat.com/rhel8 and click on Download RHEL button. From the download screen, find the required ISO and download it. You will need an account on the Red Hat Developer network
Is Red Hat Enterprise for free?
In 2021 the only way to get “legal” access to RHEL was to buy a subscription but you can now use RHEL 8 for free via the Red Hat Developer Program , which costs $0 to join. It allows individual developer-use of RHEL for small workloads.
