After passing your CCIE written exam for any track candidates must make an initial attempt at the lab exam within 18 months.
There are 10 ccie lab locations worldwide.
Bangalore, Beijing, Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong, RTP (USA), San Jose, Sau Paulo (Brazil), Sydney & Tokyo
Obviously the thought of taking your lab in a holiday destination a long way from home, the reality is you should choose the lab venue closest to you so you minimise any jet lag / travel time. So when you arrive at your lab you are refreshed and ready to pass it!
For more info check http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/exam/locations.html
As much as I looked I could not find a map showing the locations so I made my own!
My personal lab location will be Brussels as I am based in the UK
There was a thing a while back about taking your lab exam at Prometric sites and there was a trial in April in London, not sure about the rest of the world. From feedback I saw it was very much a sit in the room and take your exam, everything on the screen, no proctor.
I don’t know anyone who has passed their lab at a prometric site but it would be good to hear any feedback.
I personally like the idea of going to a Cisco site to take my CCIE.
However from the feeback I am hearing it looks like the ccie troubleshooting is what is getting students at the moment.
Keep studying!
