The Skype for Business Network Assessment Tool provides the ability to perform a simple test of network performance to determine how well the network would perform for a Skype for Business Online call.

The tool can be installed on Windows 7 and above and makes a test call to a Microsoft Edge Server which verifies the network path through your LAN and across the Internet.
The tool tests the connection to Microsoft Network Edge by streaming a set of packets to the nearest edge site and back for approximately 20s for a configured number of iterations. The tool reports:
- Packet loss
- Round-trip latency
- Reorder packet percentage
The beauty of this tool is that it uses the same ports that the Skype for Business client uses so there is no requirement to open any firewall rules for testing.
The tool will prefer to use UDP

- Download the file from the link above
- Extract the Zip file into a folder
- Ensure you have x86 Visual C++ run time components
The tool has a dependency on x86 Visual C++ run-time components for Visual Studio 2015.

I am running a 64 bit machine but had to install the x86 components in order to get the tool to run.
Run Network Assessment
Once you have the files extracted into a folder, within a command prompt navigate to that folder and run the command networkassessmentool.exe
